December 16th, 2016: Youth Action’s 11th Annual Toy Drive  in partnership with Peirce College was a success thanks to all of our partners and supporters. Youth Action collected over 800 gifts for 15 families at the Love and Care Residential Care Shelter in West Philadelphia. Service Leaders in Youth Action’s Service Leader Program organized the toy drive and connected with several community organizations and partners to collect gifts for the families. Partners included The Greenfield School, Sneakervilla (Lancaster Avenue), Philadelphia Wealth Management (Peter D’Amico), and Community Behavioral Health. This event would not be possible without our partners.

Yasmin Khan, Youth Action’s 2016 toy drive coordinator and senior at Mount Saint Joseph Academy wrote “To our partners, thank you from the bottom of my heart. We have touched so many people this holiday season and I don’t know how we would have done it without your additional support. This was the most amazing experience and a great way to serve the community the last holiday I have as a high school student. Your donations were phenomenal! We were able to support a number of families who live in a shelter in the West Philadelphia community with some of the donations we had.”

Youth Action hopes each family enjoyed the holiday season and we are grateful to each member and partner who made the drive happen!
