Youth-Led Programs, Community-Driven Impact
Our unique approach puts students in charge, giving them the opportunity to lead and make a real impact in their communities. Through three sequential programs, led by trained college and high school student leaders, we equip middle and high school youth across Philadelphia with the skills, experience, and confidence they need to thrive. Explore our programs below to see how we empower the next generation of leaders.

Student-Led Civic Engagement
Junior Youth Action
The Junior Youth Action Program (JYA) is a student-led initiative designed to develop leadership and mentorship skills in middle school students. Through leadership workshops, service opportunities, and mentorship, JYA empowers 7th and 8th-grade youth to embrace leadership, civic engagement, and social justice. The program fosters peer-to-peer interaction and academic achievement, inspiring students to become agents of positive change in their communities.
Inspiring Leaders Program
The Inspiring Leaders Program (ILP) empowers 9th and 10th graders in Philadelphia to become confident, capable civic leaders. Along with leadership training, participants develop crucial skills in marketing, budgeting, and communication to plan and execute a service project of their choice.
Each cohort of students receives up to $5,000 to organize a project with peers from diverse backgrounds across the city.
Service Leaders Program
The Service Leaders Program (SLP) is designed for alumni of the Junior Youth Action and Inspiring Leaders Programs who are in 10th grade or higher. SLP advances our mission of cultivating socially responsible and transformational leaders by building on the skills students have developed in previous Youth Action programs. The program offers consistent community service opportunities and professional development training, ensuring students continue to grow as leaders and make a meaningful impact.
