Youth Action is a student-led non-for-profit where students work to INSPIRE students to LEAD and gives them the resources and support to SERVE their communities.
Youth Action recently commemorated it’s 10th Anniversary service year that celebrated the founding of an organization dedicated to inspiring students to lead and serve. Youth Action (YA) is always looking to strengthen the work of its founders and carry on. Our student members are the drive and energy behind all of the great work that we do with Youth Action. This upcoming year we have several opportunities for students through a few of our key initiatives! a legacy committed to positive social change. To that end, Youth Action seeks to select some of the most talented African American student leaders who reside in the Greater Philadelphia area to become members of Youth Action. The team is currently inviting interest applications from some of the most devoted high school and college student leaders in Philadelphia.

Inspiring Leaders Program Our exciting service initiative
The Inspiring Leaders Program (ILP) is our experential leadership development program for 20 9th and 10th grade high school students in Philadelphia. The program consists of monthly leadership workshops in the fall and a wide scale service project in the spring. We are looking for college students who would be interested in facilitating workshops and mentoring participants in the project planning process.
General Membership Opportunities Leading through Service
Aside from the ILP program, there are also many opportunities as a general member of Youth Action. We welcome any student with an interest in marketing, fundraising, or non-profit management. Additionally, there are many chances for our members to lead in our key service programs such as Junior Youth Action (our mentorship program for students from 6-8th grade) and our annual toy drive.
Ultimately, we provide dynamic African American high school and college students with an opportunity to craft innovative service projects geared to increasing their peers’ involvement with leadership and service in their communities. Students who participate in Youth Action benefit from unprecedented networking opportunities with committed student leaders, experiential leadership development, non-profit development work experience, community service hours, and college scholarships.
Some of its service programs include facilitating our Inspiring Leaders program for 9th & 10th grade students in Philadelphia, organizing monthly volunteer projects for our peers to participate in, a mentorship and leadership development program for elementary and middle school youth called Junior Youth Action, organizing intercollegiate service programs for college students, and an annual Toy Drive for children in need.
YA is asking that students interested in joining directly fill out the following interest form Youth Action Interest Form. Interest forms are reviewed on a rolling basis and each student will be contacted shortly after their interest form is completed. The team is looking forward to receiving inquiries from some of the best African American high school and college student leaders in Greater Philadelphia.
