The University of Pennsylvania’s Black Wharton Association has selected Youth Action as it’s 2012 G.A.L.A Honoree.   The G.A.L.A. will take place on Friday, March 23rd, 2012 at 8pm in Colloquium Hall in the John Huntsman Building at the University of Pennsylvania located at 3730 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19144.

Youth Action is deeply honored to receive this award and recognition from our peers. The entire Youth Action Team would like to give warm thanks to the Black Wharton Undergraduate Association. Youth Action looks forward to it’s service partnership with Black Wharton.

Official Black Wharton Undergraduate Association G.A.L.A Announcement

“This year, Black Wharton Undergraduate Association (BWUA) is having their 4th annual G.A.L.A.: “Galvanizing Adolescents towards a Legacy of Achievement.” We will be honoring the community service commitment of Youth Action, a Philadelphia non-profit dedicated to motivating and uplifting the achievement of African American youth.

Under new leadership, the BWUA Community Service Committee found that a single monentary amount would not be satisfactory enough to what this organization could greatly benefit from. Therefore, this event will kick off the year long community service commitment between Youth Action & BWUA in expanding the encouragement and progress of Philadelphia youth.

This event is a Black-tie affair. There will be a phenomenal jazz performance throughout the night, a sensational vocal performance, and a motivational key note speaker from the Pennsylvania State Senate. There will be a delicious three course dinner served followed by a delightful dessert reception after the event.”
