Salute to Youth Action's Graduates

Nine Youth Action members have graduated from high school and are set to attend college this fall. During an end of the service year barbeque in honor of Youth Action seniors Abington Friends School graduate and former JYA Co-Director Brittany Botts reported that “being a part of Youth Action has been something special for her and that I have loved every moment of my time here.” For her and the rest of the soon to be college students, through YA they were ableto gain valuable experiences in community organizing and they inspired their peers to serve as well. Several of YA seniors have earned institution and outside scholarships because of their work with Youth Action.  In addition, four members of Junior Youth Action (Dominique Lloyd, Mercedes Davis, Nia Pitts, and DaShawn Zamore) graduated from the 8th grade and one of YA’s college members (Alan-Michael Hill) graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.  Join YA as we salute the 2011 graduating class!
