The Tavis Smiley Foundation is accepting applicants for this year’s 2011 Leadership Institute scheduled for July 21-25 on the campus of UCLA in Los Angeles. Middle and high school students, ages 13-18, are eligible to apply. Students will be selected based on their application which includes an essay, recommendation letter and community and leadership activities. The program fee is $600 and includes all meals, campus housing and program materials. There are no scholarships available. The deadline is June 30.
