Youth Action member Praise Agu, a new alumna of Bryn Mawr College, was selected to receive the selective Teach for America two year teaching Fellowship.

To commemorate its 10th anniversary year, Youth Action (YA) is looking to strengthen the work of its founders and carry on a legacy committed to positive social change. To that end, Youth Action seeks to select 50 of the most talented African American student leaders who reside in the Greater Philadelphia area to become members of Youth Action.

Youth Action member Pierce Sinclair will be featured as a top scholar in his school’s yearbook for being ranked in the top 10% of George Washington Carver Engineering and Sciences High School’s senior class.

Youth Action, in partnership with Ray of Hope Ministries, Inc., The Mt. Airy Church of God In Christ, and Councilwoman Marian B. Tasco, will serve as a host for the 20th Annual Philadelphia Youth Summit: “Each One-Reach One-To Teach One” at the Mt. Airy Church of God in Christ.

The purpose of this afternoon event is to raise money for the our Scholarship Fund which will be distributed to students in the name of long time Youth Action Ally, Ann C. Phillips.

Youth Action will host its monthly general body meeting this Saturday, March 17th, 2012 from 10:00am-12:00pm at the University of Pennsylvania.
