In 2012 Sadiyah wrote, “ I would say that joining Youth Action was one of the best decisions I have made thus far — participation in this organization has opened a lot of doors for me and exposed me to some opportunities like Youthadelphia”

Here are two quick blurbs below from the article referencing Xiomara’s involvement with Youth Action!

The Main Line News wrote, “She belongs to Youth Action, a student-led nonprofit, since her freshman year, and is director for one of their programs, Junior Youth Action, which teaches middle schoolers about service and leadership.”

Q: What sparked your original interest in Youth Action?

A: I connected to Youth Action through an announcement we had in assembly the beginning of freshman year. The nonprofit “produces socially responsible leaders by providing them with training, mentorship, funding, and other resources to lead and serve their communities.” I knew I wanted to apply to their program because not only did it help improve my leadership skills, but I was also able to do things I love — community service and raising awareness about issues relevant to our community. My freshman year, I directed and planned a fashion show to raise awareness of violence in Philadelphia with a group of students. This year I am the director for one of their programs, Junior Youth Action, where we teach middle schoolers about service and leadership. I love interacting with the kids and getting to know them. They teach me a lot about myself just as much as I teach them.”
