Campus Youth Action

Youth Action would like all of its team members to make community service an integral part of their college experience. To ensure that this happens, throughout the service year, Youth Action organizes an assortment of service events, projects and opportunities that cater to college students specifically. While the projects look to improve student learning – through service, service-learning, and other civic engagement activities – college members of our team work to discover linkages between community action, social justice advocacy, professional development and intercollegiate service collaboration.

Campus Youth Action (The A-List Network)

Campus Youth Action (The Achievement List) is an initiative that attempts to bring together college students in the Philadelphia area to get them excited about social justice and community action. Youth Action does this through a vast number of professional development, intercollegiate service, and networking opportunities.

Objectives:
The A-List Network seeks to lay the groundwork for students to actively seek the input and talents of students from different campuses in an effort to contribute to significant social change. Our objectives are:

[1] To develop, maintain and continuously expand a contact list serve that will keep Black college students in Philadelphia informed about opportunities to meet other students and participate in efforts across campuses.

[2] To create a structured foundation that will encourage subsequent collaborations (and other interactions) with students and student groups at colleges and universities in Philadelphia and the surrounding area to do campus and community work in Philadelphia.

[3] To increase and enhance networking possibilities for Philadelphia Black college students by organizing festive and inspiring events that will include excellent student and professional networking opportunities.

[4] To build and sustain positive working relationships with Black college student leaders in the Philadelphia area to organize impactful intercollegiate campus programming and service events.

Though the A-List Committee is headed by members of Youth Action, talented student leaders around the city serve as representatives from their colleges and universities. This enables The A-List Network to comprise of a multitude of rich and diverse perspectives.
