This Week’s Student Spotlight features our wonderfully talented ninth grader from Delaware Country Christian High School – Gabrielle Watson!

Gabrielle told us she joined a youth action because she wanted to increase her leadership skills and make new connections. “I wanted to work with other like minded youth who are interested in doing positive things in the community.”

Gabrielle went on to say that she likes that Youth Action gives her a voice, and that the people in this program really value her ideas. “And I love that it has helped me boost my confidence.”

“Being a part of Youth Action has made me a better leader. Youth Action has helped me discover my passion for helping other young kids like me. I have facilitated meetings , and have spoken in webinars. This program has shown me that everyone’s opinions matter.”

After high school, Gabrielle would like to attend either a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) or an Ivy League school. She hopes to one day become an OB/GYN, and would love to be a part of the first Black Greek sorority.

One fun fact about Gabrielle is that she is an 8 time Junior Olympic medalist in track and field! How incredible!

Gabrielle Watson, you are going to do big things. You blow us all away with your hard work, compassion, and spirit. It is leaders like Gabrielle that are going to change the community, the nation, and the world. Thank you, Gabrielle!
