Youth Action Looks for New Student Leaders to Join

Youth Action is currently accepting applications for its 2019-2020 cohort. Our programs are a great way for youth to be involved in their communities outside of school-based opportunities. I am reaching out in hopes of having [INSERT PERSON/ORGANIZATION] share this opportunity with Philadelphia youth in its network and/or recommend youth that would benefit from our programming.
Youth Action offers three different programs that run on Saturdays from September until May on the University of the Sciences campus. Please see brief descriptions of each program below.
JUNIOR YOUTH ACTION (JYA) is for students entering 7th & 8th grades and explores the value of leadership, service and civic engagement. Sessions are held 2-3 times per month from 11:00am – 2:30pm. Youth can apply here.
INSPIRING LEADERS PROGRAM (ILP) is an experiential leadership development program for 9th & 10th grade students (we also accept first time students entering 11th grade) that provides students with service and leadership training and mentorship. Sessions are held 2-3 times per month from 10am – 2:00pm. Youth can apply here.
SERVICE LEADERS PROGRAM (SLP) is a program for ILP alumni and other 11th and 12th grade students in the city of Philadelphia who demonstrate exceptional leadership skills. Students consistently organize service projects throughout the year, which many of them use to fulfill their community service hours required by their high schools. Sessions are held twice times per month from 10am – 1:30pm. Youth can apply here.
For more information about Youth Action, our students, and the work that we do, please see the resources listed and attached below.

If you know anyone else who might be interested in joining Youth Action, we are recruiting for all three programs, so feel free to spread the word!
